Home grown vegetables saves up a lot of money, and some say home grown vegetables tastes better. I agree with both the above said.

This one goes out to all the cucumber lovers, have you been wondering how cucumbers are grown? Well wonder no more.

By the time you finish reading this article you'll be ready to start your very own Cucumber garden.

Where do you plant cucumbers?

Cucumbers prefer a humid weather, organic soil and plenty of sunlight that would be in a tunnel or under a net shade. At some point I wanted to grow Cucumbers but I was a bit discouraged when I was told that the best Cucumbers are grown in the United States and I'm based in South Africa. But because I'm a very persistent being I tried it anyway and I was more than happy with the results.

I didn't get it right on the first nor second not even third try, but giving up was nowhere in my vocabulary. After every fail I could tell where I was going wrong and that meant with every trial I got better results and that's exactly what kept me going. I had to ask help from someone with better understanding in Agriculture and yes we have failed together but now we are happy to share that we finally  made a success with tunnel farming cucumbers.

This is perceived as intensive farming but we want you to rest assured that it is way less stressful than running a mixed farming operation. You could easily leave the farm for a day unattended without worrying that something major might go wrong.

Cucumbers cost around

R10 each at selected markets. If you are a cucumber lover and buy about 10 cucumbers per month then having your own cucumber garden will save you a R100 a month, which makes it R1200 annually or even more because some shops cucumbers are sold for more than just R10,imagine what you can do with an extra R1200.

*GRAFTED CUCUMBERS*

Grafted cucumbers simply means minimising Copper(Cu)toxicity.

“The grafted cucumbers yield more than the regular cucumbers, they  yield 13 to 15 cucumbers per plant – a regular plant yields two cucumbers less than a grafted plant.

Simply cucumbers are very healthy can be eaten alone or in a salad. I grew an interest in Cucumbers soon as I realised that my family salads always include cucumbers. There's a cucumber in like 70% of the dishes made at home.

I then decided to have a cucumber Garden and to my surprise our cucumbers tastes a little better than the bought cucumbers.

Get your cucumber seeds and get started. You won't be sorry and the taste is just out of this world. Good luck!
